Itinerary
- Day 1
Kilimanjaro Airport to Arusha
Met on arrival and transferred to a hotel near Arusha city centre. Overnight bed and breakfast.
- Day 2
Arusha to Tarangire
Safari briefing and lunch, then through the Maasai Steppe to Lake Burunge on the western edge of Tarangire.
- Day 3
Tarangire then north
Morning game drive among lions, elephants and the Silale swamp. Afternoon drive toward the Manyara highlands.
- Day 4
Manyara to the Serengeti
Game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, then across coffee country into Ngorongoro and onward to the Serengeti plains.
- Day 5
Serengeti
Morning and afternoon game drives. Big Five country, and in season the wildebeest migration and its predators.
- Day 6
Serengeti to Ngorongoro
Game viewing across the plains with a picnic lunch, arriving at your crater-rim or Karatu lodge.
- Day 7
Ngorongoro Crater
Descend 2,000 feet through morning mist onto the crater floor — forest, swamps, soda lake and open grassland in one caldera.
- Day 8
Return to Arusha
South-east past Manyara and Mto wa Mbu, lunch in Arusha, then Kilimanjaro Airport — or continue to Zanzibar.
