  1. Day 1

    Arrive Nairobi · Drexel House, Karen

    Met at JKIA and transferred to Drexel House in Karen. Afternoon in the gardens after the flight. Overnight bed and breakfast.

  2. Day 2

    Nairobi · Drexel House, Karen

    Giraffe Centre, a forest cultural performance at Oloolua, picnic lunch, then the Karen Blixen Museum. Overnight Drexel House.

  3. Day 3

    Ol Pejeta · Soames Hotel, Nanyuki

    Drive the Central Highlands to Nanyuki, lunch overlooking the airstrip, check in at Soames Hotel, then a first game drive in Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Overnight Soames.

  4. Day 4

    Ol Pejeta · Soames Hotel, Nanyuki

    Morning with the northern white rhinos and Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Night game drive for civet, genet and, with luck, leopard. Overnight Soames Hotel.

  5. Day 5

    Aberdare · The Ark

    Ngare Ndare canopy walk and waterfall, then the Aberdare highlands. Shuttle to The Ark — a reverse zoo on a waterhole, where elephant and buffalo come to you. Overnight The Ark, full board.

  6. Day 6

    Njoro · Ziwa Garden Lodge

    Thompson Falls, then Ziwa Garden Lodge among the coffee. Optional visit to Kenana Knitters. Overnight Ziwa Garden Lodge.

  7. Day 7

    Lake Nakuru · Ziwa Garden Lodge

    Afternoon in Lake Nakuru National Park — black and white rhino, Rothschild giraffe, lake birds. Return to Ziwa Garden Lodge.

  8. Day 8

    Lake Naivasha · Dea's Garden Lodge

    Menengai Crater viewpoint, then down the Rift to Naivasha. Overnight Dea's Garden Lodge.

  9. Day 9

    Boat to Crescent Island for a walking safari among giraffe and zebra. Optional pottery. Sunset hippo boat on the lake. Overnight Dea's Garden Lodge.

    Cycle Hell's Gate among plains game, then walk the gorge. Optional Olkaria geothermal spa. Overnight Dea's Garden Lodge.

    Four-hour drive into the Loita Hills. Maji Moto Eco Camp — simple shared-facility tents beside a Maasai community, no lodge trimmings. Overnight Maji Moto, full board.

    Warrior training, archery and spear, a medicinal walk, campfire stories. Overnight Maji Moto.

    Maasai Mara · Mattikoko Safari Camp

    West into Lemek Conservancy on the northern Mara. Check in at Mattikoko Safari Camp — canvas, en-suite, conservancy views. Afternoon game drive. Overnight Mattikoko, full board.
