Maasai Mara or Serengeti — or both?
They are one ecosystem with two fee structures, two vibes and one shared river. How we help you choose.
Fredrick Ochieng · April 2026
The Mara is smaller, easier from Nairobi, and in high season busier inside the reserve — which is why we often sleep in a conservancy next door, where night drives and walking are legal.
The Serengeti is a different scale. You can drive all day and still be in the park. Central Seronera is cat country; the north is river country; the south is empty and green after the rains.
If you have ten days, Classic East Africa does both, with us handling the border. If you have six, pick one country and go deeper. A rushed both is worse than a slow one.
